Classes Start   April 2 & 3 2012
While we know that some of our students will want to pursue agility and or obedience to the competition level, we do not expect that every student will do so. We welcome ALL students who wish to do agility and or obedience just for the enjoyment it gives them and their dog. This is a sport anyone can enjoy, and while we encourage competition, we understand competition is not everyone's idea of fun. You are welcome regardless of your goals.We treat all our students as our friends, and encourage that attitude in all our classes.

Vaccination Requirements

All dogs participating in classes are required to have current vaccinations.
Vaccinations Required Are:

  • Rabies: For all dogs 16 weeks and older, with repeat vaccinations every 1-3 years, as recommended by the individual's veterinarian.

  • DHPP: (Distemper, Adenovirus, Parvovirus, and Parainfluenza). Puppies must have their first in series vaccinations before starting class, & must complete the puppy series of vaccinations as recommended by the individual's veterinarian.

  •  These Core vaccinations are required one year after puppy shots, & every 3 years thereafter, or as recommended by the individual's veterinarian.

Recommended Vaccination

  • Kennel Cough (Bordetella): Vaccinations at least once a year for all dogs 16 weeks and older. Agility 4 fun encourages vaccinations for younger puppies, prior to starting a Puppy Kindergarten class, as recommended by the individual's veterinarian.
  • NO dog will be allowed to participate unless veterinarian vaccination records are provided, showing that minimum requirements are met, except:

                          a. Individuals who perform their own vaccinations may provide dates & types of vaccinations, together
                              with receipts and labels.
                           b. If a dog is unable to receive a vaccination for reasons such as allergies, the individual may present
                              a letter from his or her veterinarian annually, confirming that the dog has been examined, has an
                              allergic reaction to the vaccine, is healthy, & may participate in activities without health risk
                              to the dog or other participants.

  Agility 4 Fun recommends that each owner consult with his or her own veterinarian for advice on appropriate vaccination protocol.

Basic Obedience / Introductory Agility Class
Our six-week class is designed to help you develop reliable, basic obedience commands (sit, down, stay, come, walking on leash, and heeling with turns). All work is done on-lead. The class lasts approximately 1 1/2 hr. During class we will offer other informative information dealing with common dog problems such as the proper way to decrease and wean your dog off food treats, jumping, guarding the food dish, etc. In Agility your dog will learn to properly perform the individual agility obstacles in a safe and fun manner. This will include the A-frame, Open Tunnel, Closed Tunnel, Dog Walk, and the Tire Jump. We keep ALL equipment at a lower height during this class. We are currently taking enrollments for our Basic Obedience / Introductory class. Class starts April 2, &  3, 2012   Cost is $65.00 per dog. All our classes are held outside. Because our classes are held outside the exact dates of when class will start may change due to unforeseen circumstances, once enrolled you will be notified if a change occurs. Wear comfortable clothing ...jeans and tennis shoes are always good choices. If you dog usually eats a meal before your class starts you will want to wait until after class to feed. A hungry dog will pay more attention to you when using treats.
